The Communications Department at Valley Christian is an exciting place to be. Our progressive program presents television, video and webcasting, scriptwriting, filmmaking, radio, newspaper and yearbook production as avenues to communicate, to students, parents, faculty, administration, and the community. We don't play at communication, we live it every day.
The Dr. Clifford Daugherty Communications Center of Valley Christian High School
is among the finest high school media facilities in the nation, with leading edge technology, professional industry standard equipment and software, and experienced faculty. VCHS launched the first High School Internet radio station in the world. It also has a complete television studio and control room, radio studios and a filmmaking facility. Our TV news anchors, reporters and production crew learn the craft by doing it, daily.
With an operating TV studio, multiple radio recording studios and more than 40 Apple G5 computers running the latest media creation software - Final Cut Pro Studio, Pro Tools, Adobe CS2 Suite - students have all the professional tools necessary to produce award winning work.
Valley Christian students learn to express their ideas, emotions, truth and the Christian faith. Using advanced technology, combined with theory and practical communications application, our new media students learn to confidently interact with a rapidly changing industry, to be effective communicators in the 21st Century. Visual Literacy is a primary focus for the Television and Video production classes. Students learn how to be both discerning consumers and producers of visual media arts. We train young learners to be powerful communicators for a modern, rapidly-changing world. |
